Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek Overview
The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one of Nepal’s best short treks, ideal for travelers who want mountain views, village life, and a rewarding trekking experience within a limited time. The trek is well known for its sunrise view from Poon Hill, one of the most famous viewpoints in the Annapurna region.
The journey begins with a local jeep drive from Pokhara to Birethanti, followed by a gradual walk through terraced farmland and traditional Magar and Gurung villages. As the trail climbs higher, it passes through forests of rhododendron and oak, leading to Ghorepani and the early morning hike to Poon Hill.
After enjoying the sunrise views, the trek continues through quiet forest trails toward Tadapani and Ghandruk. Along the way, you stay in tea houses run by local families, offering simple rooms and home cooked meals. The trek ends at Jhinu Danda, where natural hot springs by the river provide a relaxing break before returning to Pokhara.
This trek is suitable for beginners, families, and anyone short on time who still wants a true Himalayan trekking experience. With its short duration, comfortable pace, and diverse scenery, the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek offers great value and memorable views without long or demanding days.
