How Nepwise Works?

How Nepwise Works?

Plan your Nepal trek with full clarity — before you book.

Instead of showing only one fixed package price, we break the trek into parts so you understand exactly what is included, what is optional, and what you may still spend on the trail. No bundled confusion. No exaggerated inclusions. No hidden margins.

Two parts, clearly separated

Most trekking operators bundle everything into one price — guides, permits, transportation, accommodation, food, and more. You pay upfront, and it's rarely clear how it's divided. Nepwise works differently.

Every trek has two distinct cost parts. One that is fixed and needs to be arranged in advance you pay us upfront only for this part. One that is flexible — you can choose to manage yourself and pay directly on the trail.

The Fixed Part — We handle this in advance

  • Licensed local guide(s)

  • Permits and government taxes

  • Trek-related transportation

  • Accommodation during the trek

  • Core logistics and coordination

The Flexible Part — Optional, you can choose to manage yourself

  • Meals and drinks

  • Porter (if you want one)

  • Hot showers, Wi-Fi, charging (These are always charged separately by teahouses on per-use basis)

  • Airport pickup / drop-off

  • Any personal extras

On-trail expenses are estimated in detail on every trek page before you book, so you can prepare properly. You pay local lodges and vendors directly — no middlemen, no hidden margins on your daily spending.

This separation exists because not every traveler eats the same, spends the same, or wants the same comforts. The fixed part keeps your trek structured and safe. The flexible part keeps it honest.

Step by step: from choosing a trek to trekking it

1. Choose your trek

Browse treks by route, duration, and difficulty. Each trek page shows the full itinerary with a map, a clear breakdown of what's included in the base package and what isn't, physical expectations, and the estimated on-trail cost — not just one bundled number.

By the time you finish reading a trek page, you should understand what you're signing up for.

2. Check fixed departures or request a private trek

Once you've decided a trek, see available departure dates. For each group, you can check the guide, group size, and remaining spots.

Joining a fixed departure group keeps costs lower and is a good fit for most solo or small group travelers. If the dates don't work or you'd prefer to go privately, you can request a custom private trek.

3. Build your plan using the Trek Planner

Use the Trek Planner to shape the trek around your specifics:

  1. On the Trek Planner, choose the trek you've decided to do

  2. Select trek type — fixed departure (open group) or private

  3. Choose your fixed departure date or preferred private date

  4. Select nationality / region

  5. Add number of trekkers

  6. Add optional services: food, porter, airport transfers

As you adjust, the total price updates in real time. You see the base package cost (the fixed part), each add-on separately, and a clear total per person before you make any commitment.

4. Understand what you're paying for

The Trek Planner shows a full cost breakdown at every stage. You know which amount goes to Nepwise for logistics, and which are estimates for what you'll spend directly on the trail. Nothing is vague, nothing is buried in a single total.

5. Request to book

When your plan is ready, you send a booking request. Our team confirms availability, your departure details, and guide assignment, then sends the next steps and payment instructions.

At this point, your guide, permits, accommodation, and core logistics are locked in and organized.

6. Prepare before the trek begins

Before you leave for the trail, you get access to your full trek details, a group chat on WhatsApp with fellow trekkers and your guide, packing guidance, and clear instructions for what to expect and budget. The goal is to arrive prepared, not uncertain.

7. Trek with support, without the overhead

On the trail, your guide is with you at every step, managing the route, safety, and daily coordination.

You choose what you eat, which services you use, and what you spend. You pay local lodges and vendors directly. More of your money reaches the communities you're passing through.

Nepwise vs traditional agencies

Trekking in Nepal isn't inherently expensive or confusing. The way it is often sold makes it feel that way.

Traditional agency model

Nepwise model

✕ Single bundled price without clarity and pricing breakdown

✓ Two clearly separated costs — fixed logistics paid to Nepwise, personal spending paid directly on the trail

✕ You pay upfront for meals and services you may not want or use

✓ On-trail spending stays in your control — you pay for what you actually consume

✕ Local lodges and vendors get paid through the agency — margins taken at every layer

✓ You pay local lodges and vendors directly — more money reaches the communities on the trail

✕ Limited flexibility once you've booked

✓ Add or skip optional services before booking — food, porter, airport transfers

✕ Surprises on the trail — charges you didn't expect, services not as described

✓ Estimated on-trail expenses shown upfront so you can plan and arrive prepared

In short

You pay Nepwise for what must be organized in advance such as for guides, permits, transport, and accommodation. Everything else stays in your hands, with clear estimates so you're never caught off guard.

That's the model. That's what we mean by Adventure the Wise Way.
